Description
Ketotram is a combination of Ketorolac and Tramadol which relieve pain. Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which inhibits prostaglandin synthesis that cause pain and inflammation. Tramadol is an opioid analgesic which works by blocking transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.
Indications
• Short-term treatment of moderate to severe traumatic pain origin (back pain, fractures, dislocations, sprains, cancer)
• Postoperative pain after major abdominal surgery
• Dental pain, Molar Extraction
• In the treatment of neuropathic pain
Dosage
1 sublingual tablet every 12 hours, not to exceed 7 days of treatment
Contraindications
• In patients with hypersensitivity to tramadol & ketorolac
• In patients with active peptic ulcer, recent gastrointestinal bleeding
• In poisoning with alcohol
• Sleeping pills and psychotropic drugs
• Patients with moderate or severe renal impairment should be administered under closed medical supervision
• Pregnancy and lactation
Side-effects
Drowsiness and blurred vision.
Precautions
Ketotram should be used with caution in patients with kidney and liver disease.
